I made it through Tennessee without any incidents. But it was hot, mid to high 90’s. So I started leaving at 6AM and riding until noon, then I would get a motel room. I did try to camp out one night, but it’s impossible to sleep in a tent when it’s 90 degrees.
This was my progress as of August 11:
The next day I headed west to New Mexico. The ride across the Oklahoma prairies was pretty boring, straight flat roads for hundreds of miles.
I spent the night in Raton New Mexico. The next day I headed to Durango Colorado. The ride took me through the Rio Grande National Forest, there is some beautiful scenery here.
